This website is designed to be simple and search engine friendly. All graphics are optimised so that each page can be downloaded quickly. This is now one of many considerations in search engine algorithms. If this website was for a photographer or artist, there may be a benefit to using Adobe Flash which is a great product that allows for animation and eye-catching slide shows etc. The downside is that Flash is not particularly search engine friendly and its usage would increase download time. As we are primarily an Internet Marketing Company we have decided that for us, simplicity is key.
This website uses an extremely simple navigation system. We decided against using javascript to provide more eye-catching drop down menus as once again, our primary concern is indexation and search engine performance. The URLs used for each page are friendly to search engines, for example the URL for our Search Engine Optimisation page is http://www.internet-marketing-service-uk.co.uk/search-engine-optimisation.html. This helps to inform search engines that the page relates to Search Engine Optimisation.
For this same reason we chose the rather long-winded domain www.internet-marketing-service-uk.co.uk. The domain name helps to inform search engines that we offer an Internet Marketing Service to the UK market. If we were promoting a brand, we would of course use a far more simple domain name. The considerations mentioned above are only a drop in the ocean when it comes to serious SEO but they are important for our particular objective.
